Private lessons are all about you. Whether you’re aiming to refine your technique, enjoy a date night, or simply get moving at your own pace, these 45-minute sessions (plus 15 minutes of practice time) are customized to match your style, goals, and schedule.
Private lessons also allow you to move between different styles of dance. So if you have interests outside of salsa or other Latin dances, we’re thrilled to explore those with you!

Salsa Group Class FAQ
-
In most of our classes, we teach Salsa on the “1,” not the “2” and consider ourselves a Cross Body, LA-style studio (although we don’t adhere to any one style). If this doesn’t make sense to you, don’t worry about it; know that we teach the type of Salsa that most people dance in Chicago. You’ll have no problem fitting in and dancing with others when you choose to go out dancing.
-
While Salsa is our core focus, we also offer instruction in several other Latin and partner dance styles:
Bachata – A smooth, romantic dance with close connection and simple patterns.
Cha Cha – A sharp, rhythmic style that adds flair to your Latin dance foundation.
Argentine Tango – A passionate, improvisational partner dance with intricate footwork and deep musicality. Available in private lessons and occasional specialty classes.
In addition to these, we explore specialty styles throughout the year, such as:
Samba
Cumbia
Merengue
Zouk
These styles are often included in themed classes, special events, or private lesson requests. While we don’t offer recurring group classes in these dances, they’re a fun way to expand your Latin dance vocabulary and try something new.

No experience? No Problem!
We host mixed-level Salsa classes to accommodate all levels of Salsa dancers. We start as a group and go over some basic movement combos - think Salsa Shines (side-by-side salsa with your partner - and then everyone learns new movement appropriate for whatever level they’re at. The mixed-level semi private classes are really like mini private lessons so you get a bunch of personalized attention! We limit our class size to five couples, so you’ll always get a lot of attention from the teacher.
