Congratulations to our wonderful students, Dustin and Rania, who have recently tied the knot! They began taking dance lessons in November of 2011 and have been dancing ever since! Working with Dustin and Rania has been a joy to us. Even with their busy work schedules and sometimes stressful wedding preparation, they managed to take lessons consistently and be supportive to each other throughout the whole process.

When Ken and Sam stepped into the studio for their first lesson, Samantha’s polished curls and Ken’s smiling face caught our attention. With no particular song or dance in mind, they wanted to have fun exploring a few different dance styles. They agreed their first dance should be both fun and traditional, and feeling confident performing was a top priority, particularly in Sam’s tall hot pink heels!

BDC Student Spotlight: Matt & Nicole - Nice Men Marry Dancers, Real Men BECOME Dancers

It was the last day of July when a very excited Nicole dragged her very worried fiance Matt into Ballroom Dance Chicago. Nicole grew up dancing and envisioned a classic first dance with lots of personality. Matt on the other hand couldn’t help remembering those rare occasions he went dancing with Nicole and felt out of place and uncomfortable. In fact, his primary dance move was just to try and grab on to Nicole and slow her down as much as possible.

BDC Student Spotlight: Dan & Amanda - Whimsical Vintage Wedding

Walking into the studio in T-shirts and jean shorts, holding helmet in one hand and coffee mug in the other, Dan and Amanda talked to us about the vintage-style wedding that they’d been planning with total excitement. From the old broken doors from the 50s’ that they found in their basement, the vintage-inspired dress, the Polaroids, and the beer that they’d been brewing, they showed us their playful and creative personalities, love of art marking, and unique eye for details.
