Wedding Dance Group Classes
In Wedding group classes, students will learn basic dance concepts alongside other engaged couples. All group classes run in 4-week sessions, and students are expected to commit to all 4 classes in the session. We offer two levels of wedding dance group classes: Wedding 1 and Wedding 2.
All Wedding Dance Group Classes are held at the Lakeview studio.
Each class allows up to 4 engaged couples to register.
Students must first Complete Wedding 1 before signing up for Wedding 2.
Each class is 45 minutes long and covers basic first dance concepts. You’re also welcome to stay afterwards and use the studio to practice.
We're BYOB, so feel free to bring your favorite beverage!

What is the cost for Wedding Dance Group Classes?
Group classes are $240 per couple for a 4 week session.
When should we start taking lessons?
We recommend starting wedding dance lessons shortly after you get engaged. Yes, that’s right! Learning a new skill takes time and effort. We’ve seen too many people start in the month before their wedding only to be overwhelmed by last minute stressors! We think it’s better to get ahead of the wedding planning process so you’re not scrambling at the end.
What will we cover in the Wedding Dance Group Classes?
In Wedding 1, we cover the basics of partner dancing and make sure you have all the moves you need for a basic first dance. We’ll give you two “basics” to choose from, a spin in the basic, a “highlight”, and a beginning and end. We do not dance to individual couple’s songs. Instead, we learn steps that fit all kinds of music.
In Wedding 2, you’ll have the opportunity to learn specific choreography for your song. The teacher in Wedding 2 will split his/her time amongst all the couples, giving specific feedback and steps to each couple that matches their music and tastes. Every class will also include a moment to dance your steps in front of your classmates. Yes, even week 1 when you’ve only got some basics. We think the more you dance in front of people the more comfortable you’ll be on your wedding dance dancing for all your friends and loved ones.
Will we get to dance to our song?
We do not dance to specific songs in Wedding 1, but instead learn general movements that fit all songs. In Wedding 2, you’ll have the opportunity to learn to your specific song.
Can we repeat classes?
Absolutely! In wedding group classes, the curriculum will not change from session to session, so those students wishing to continue practicing the material are welcome to repeat the course. For students planning to take both Wedding 1 and Wedding 2, they are welcome to repeat either course as many times as they wish.
Will we get choreography for our song?
All curriculum in Wedding Dance Group classes is standardized so that the course remains the same from session to session. Unfortunately, this means that students do not have the option to receive choreography specific to their song choice. In Wedding 2, students will have an opportunity to dance to their song, but there will not be an opportunity for personal choreography.
Students looking for specific choreography should explore Private Lessons, Completely Private Lessons, or Accelerated Lessons.
Do we have to come to all four classes?
Students are automatically enrolled for all 4 class dates when they register. We do not offer make-up class dates, so students that miss classes forfeit that class.
Do we have a make up class?
We do not offer make up classes specifically for wedding dance group classes; however, students are welcome to attend the Saturday make-up options for our other group classes during the session. Please keep in mind that these classes will not cover the same material as Wedding Dance Group Classes.
Yes, we’re BYOB. Please feel free to bring one 750ml bottle of wine or six pack of beer per couple. We do not allow liquor.
Do we rotate partners?
Unlike our regular group classes, we do not rotate partners in our Wedding Dance Group Classes. Our focus is on getting you and your fiance dancing together!
How many couples can we expect in each class?
Each class allows up to four couples per instructor.
Will we need to practice between classes?
Practicing is always optional, but we do recommend practicing between classes in order to build muscle memory.
