Our New Teacher Training Studio - Ballroom College

We’re delighted to announce the opening of our new teacher training studio, Ballroom College! It’s a dance studio like any other dance studio (with a couple of key differences that we’ll get to in a minute): we have a big open space with enough room for anyone to waltz the night away. Take a look!

The big difference between Ballroom College and other dance studios is that our private and group lessons are taught by teachers-in-training. Yes, we are foremost a dance teacher training school that also offers dance lessons. Our concept is similar to a barber college offering haircuts at discounted price, except for us, our service is dance lessons.

The way it works at Ballroom College is that the lead teacher in charge that day supervises all the lessons happening in the space (i.e., in the end they’re responsible for everyone reaching their goals and having a good time). This means that they will step into a lessons to help the teacher-in-training if they get off track or need help explaining a step or two. It’s the lead teachers responsibility to ensure that the teacher-in-training is improving and that the clients’ goals remain the main focus of the lessons.

What that means is that if you’re coming to Ballroom College for a wedding dance lesson, for instance, the teacher-in-training and the lead teacher meet before each lessons to go over your goals, talk about your song, your choreography (or not choreography if you have simpler goals), and the agenda for the lesson that day. What this leads to is a teacher-in-training who is well prepared to teach you an amazing lesson.

If you’re curious about checking out Ballroom College and if you are current or previous Ballroom Dance Chicago student, we’re happy to discount 35% on your first purchase of 1-10 lessons. That ends up being $48.75/lesson if you buy a 10 pack!

Check out Ballroom College here or shoot them an email or call to set up your first lesson!
